The basic understanding of the prophetic phrase "heavens and earth."

The beginning of the phrase "heavens and earth"

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1: 1, NASB)

The referred verses in 'unfolding' the phrase "heavens and earth."

9 “Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
10 Declaring the END  from  the BEGINNING,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’ (Isaiah 46: 10, NASB).

The 'ending' of "heavens and earth"

Then I saw  a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea (Rev. 21: 1, NASB)

Notes:

God is the ultimate Creator of all natural existences; the intangible and tangible realities. However, the phrase "heavens and earth" is referring to the 'spirits' realms.' It does not refer to the literal tangible ''heavens and earth." The flow of the Spirit of Prophecy is consistently flowing into the spirits' realms called "heavens and earth," before manifesting on the tangible planes of existences. Thus, the "heavenly realms" function as to declare God's glory, while the "sky" proclaims His Divine 'name' ('handiwork') [Psalm 19: 1-2; Psalm 50: 3-4]. The 'heavens' refer to the spiritual realities of those Seven layers of heaven, while the ''sky" points to the spirit's realms where we could see spiritual 'vision's of stars, moon, sun and of all the 'things' up in the sky such as rains, clouds, storms, thunders, lightnings, snowstorms, hailstorms, whirlwinds and etc..etc. Those spiritual phenomenons would be 'the language of the Divine Spirit' in imparting spiritual messages unto His servants the prophets.

David sang in Psalm 119: 130 : "The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple." The Messiah, the Son of the Most High, said: "...my words are spirit and life" (John 6: 63). All the words of God are ''spirit." Therefore, God's words in the book of Genesis are "spirit." We could not comprehend the Word of God through our intellectual capacities! While the process of reading is essentially centered upon our intellectual digests, seeing those Divine words, as 'spirit,' is up to be unfolded within our spirit (the 'deep' of man). So, the process of 'unfolding of Thy words' involves the spiritual communication between the 'Deep' of God (Holy Spirit) and the 'deep' of a man. We begin to ''see" the deeper meanings of God's words when the 'Spirit of Prophecy' unfolds the meanings of the Holy Scriptures through 'visions' and 'dream dreams.'

The Sevenfold gifts of the Spirit of God  are the 'Ones' who open up our mind and eventually renewed our understanding and knowledge. He gives us understanding, knowledge and wisdom. "Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures” (Luke 24: 45).  God communicate to His redeemed children through Dream dreams and visions. Yeshua promised unto His apostles that when the Spirit of Truth came, ...they would be counseled and guided by the Holy Spirit throughout the 'Peace age.'

The prophetic phrases "A new heaven and a new earth" are pointing to the new 'name" of God. It did not suggest that the literal earth had completely been destroyed and, therefore, she became a new earth. A new heaven means a new 'name' of God: the new 'spiritual settings' in the Spirits' realms. The new declaration of God's glory. In Psalm 19, the spirit realms called 'heavens' were the very place in which His eternal glory was declared.  It neither suggests a new literal physical earth nor 'discloses' the complete destruction of our present literal earth. And yet, there would be apocalyptic distress on earth: the Seals, the Trumpets and the Bowls prior to those prophesied 1,000 years. After the 1,000 years, a brief battle between 'good and evil' would take place and only then the "new heaven and the new earth" would be fulfilled.

"A new" means the former  spiritual settings of heaven and Earth would be fulfilled, and therefore the new settings of spirit realms would be totally anew. The former spiritual settings would be completely fulfilled according to the prophecies of the mouths of God. The new spiritual settings were revealed that there would be no longer any 'sea.' The former spirit realms called "earth" would be completely be reprogrammed by the 'new' name of God! There would be no more 'beasts' on earth as there would be no more "the many waters" or "sea." The simple premises impart understanding: If there is "sea" in the new spiritual settings, then the "beasts" would be still coming out of the "sea." Revelation 21:1 says "...no longer any 'sea.' " There would be no more kingdoms of men on earth! There would be no more empires which were choreographed by the Serpent! No more kingdom buildings from the hearts of mortal men! Only the Kingdom of God reigning on earth! The Serpent had been cast into the lake of fire! So, that is the meaning "no longer any sea" in Revelation 21.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there is no longer any sea." (Revelation 21: 1). The 'heavens' which were formerly created by the Word in Genesis 1: 1 would no longer be the same as revealed by Rev. 21: 1, because the 'new heavens' would no longer be 'proclaiming' the former Divine 'name' which would be then completed (fulfilled) by Christ.  When the appointed time of fulfillment of Revelation 21: 1 came to be, then the former 'heavens' he had had created in Genesis 1: 1 would no longer remaining the same. The new "heavens and earth" would not proclaim the former 'name' of God.

The 'New Heavens' in Revelation 21: 1 declare/proclaim the new divine 'name,' which means a new programming of the spirit's realms. God had revealed that all elements or phenomenons in this literal Universe were preceded by the creations of the 'spirit realms.' In brief, it means the literal natural universe came to be preceded by the creations of the spirit realms. The "Spirits' realms"  are spiritually called with the prophetic phrase: "heavens and earth"! Prior to the creation of the tangible heavens and earth, the Word had flowed into 'the realms of the Spirit.' The spirit realms serve to be the unseen mysterious architectures of the universe or the alphabets of the Spirit: 'Heaven' and 'earth'. The Spirit realms called "heavens and earth" are spiritual realities in which the prophets see visions and dream dreams. Prophet Nahum, for example, saw the vision of a whirlwind in Nahum Chapter 1. A whirlwind is one of the spiritual realities in the Spirits' realms, "heavens and earth," and it ['sky'] discloses Divine 'handiwork' ('name') i.e. The Judge who judges in equity (see Psalm 50: 3-5; Psalm 19: 1-2). The ''vision' of the whirlwind reveals the ''pathway' of Divine wraths.  The Second Coming of Christ was also associated with the ''visions' of a Whirlwind as one of his identification as the Judge who judges in equity! The spiritual realities that accompanying the whirlwind are thunders, rumblings, lightnings, storms, and earthquakes. They are seen on earth after the descending moment of  Christ. The 'moment' of Christ's Coming is seen as clouds of heavens receding like the Scroll.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19: 1)

There are sevenfold heavens in the heavenly realms. There are spirit realms called 'sky' and 'earth' where God pronounces or proclaims His 'handiwork' ('name'). Example in 'seeing' the Spirit realms could be seen in Matthew 24: 29-30 :

29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory (Matthew 24: 29-30).

Verse 29 is the spirit's realms called 'sky'. It proclaims the coming Divine 'name': the Judge who judges in equity. Above the spirit's realms called ''sky" are the seven-fold heavens. The heavens are the Spirit's realities where the "sign" of the Son of Man was spiritually seen by the seers. Heavens are the place where we could see the Glory of God!  We could see "altar" in heaven as in Revelation 8: 3-5.  The Spirit of God is not flowing without Order. It flows according to the Order of Melchizedek! So, there must be an "altar of heavenly rite" that was performed by the High Priest of Heaven preceding the next wraths of God i.e. the Trumpets. While the second Coming of Christ is preceded by the 'sign' in heavens. The sign on heavens: "the heavens would be seen as if receding like a scroll." (Acts 1: 6-11; Revelation 6: 12-15).  The ''sky" and "earth" in Zechariah 14: 5-7 refers to proclamation of the "Unique" day of the Lord. It refers to the closing up of the "Spirit flow" of the Prince of Peace. The coming "Light" in the ''evening' is the new flow of the Spirit of God i.e. the Judge who judges in equity! And the Judge's Way on earth is in the Whirlwind.  "The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His WAY is in the WHIRLWIND and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet(Nahum 1: 3).  The Prince of Peace's Way on earth was the Altar on earth or the Sacred Cross of Jesus. The Lamb of God said "I am the Way..." But, the returned Christ's Way (the Judge) on earth is in the WHIRLWIND. It is seen in the spirit's realms!!

'Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures" (Luke 24: 45).
